Burkes Road

This rectangular gallery staircase, made of natural Portuguese limestone, leads to a split staircase, which is reinforced with steel rods. To add to the court-yard feel of the space the stone has been finished with a light sandblasting and wax. The spindles were made of hammered and waxed mild steel bars.

Bury Road

The works undertaken at this new build property included not only a horseshoe staircase, but also the supply of external stonework and a bespoke stone bath. All pieces were manufactured in French limestone and co-ordinate beautifully throughout the property.

Cadogan Place

This modern post-tensioned stone staircase, designed in our orgami style, was manufactured in Portuguese Rosal limestone.

Camp End

Installed over two flights, this classic spiral stone staircase, manufactured in Combe Brune limestone, is the central feature of this award-winning Surrey home.

Steps are often exposed to heavy foot traffic, harsh weather conditions, and other external factors that can lead to wear and damage over time. Cracks, chips, uneven surfaces, or loose materials are common issues that may necessitate step repairs.

While minor repairs such as filling small cracks or replacing loose bricks may be possible for some DIY enthusiasts, it is generally recommended to hire a professional for step repairs. Professionals have the necessary expertise, tools, and materials to ensure proper repairs and long-lasting results.

Signs that steps may require repair include visible cracks, crumbling or loose materials, uneven surfaces, wobbling or instability, or signs of water damage. Additionally, if you notice any safety hazards, such as loose handrails or broken edges, immediate repairs are essential.

The specific method of step repair depends on the nature and extent of the damage. Generally, the process involves cleaning the steps, removing any loose or damaged materials, applying appropriate repair materials (such as concrete, mortar, or specialized step repair compounds), and smoothing or reshaping the surface to restore its functionality and aesthetics.
